Chaffetz Lindsey to Host Upcoming ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF) Event

September 2015 – Chaffetz Lindsey LLP is proud to host and sponsor the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF) event being held on September 29, 2015. This ICC YAF seminar entitled “In defense of international commercial arbitration: Lessons to be learned or ignored from investor-state arbitration” will take place a week after the 10th ICC New York Conference.  Chaffetz Lindsey attorneys Yasmine Lahlou and Gretta Walters will join other panelists, who will discuss key challenges and recent developments in the investor-state dispute resolution system. The discussion will address whether these issues help or hinder international commercial arbitration. The panelists will focus on issues of transparency and confidentiality; appeal rights; costs; challenges on the basis of issue conflicts; and corruption, as well as the recent controversy surrounding the adoption of trade agreements in the US, Asian countries and the EU.
