Matthew Draper has extensive experience representing international clients before U.S. courts and arbitral tribunals constituted under ICC, UNCITRAL, AAA, VIAC and FINRA arbitration rules, as well as advising clients in relation to international disputes. Matthew represents clients in the banking, telecommunications, oil and gas, transportation, construction, pharmaceuticals and other industries.
Matthew is a member of the ICC Taskforce on “Arbitration Involving States or State Entities,” which is tasked with identifying ways the ICC International Court of Arbitration can enhance its role in the settlement of disputes involving states and state entities. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Young Arbitrators Forum, a division of the Arbitration Committee of the United States Council for International Business.
Matthew joined Chaffetz Lindsey in March 2011. Previously, Matthew was a counsel in the international arbitration group of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. Prior to that Matthew was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and a junior legal officer with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities in The Hague.
Matthew is a graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and Princeton University, where he received his degree magna cum laude. He is admitted to practice in New York.
