Carlos represents clients in arbitration proceedings involving a variety of industries. He has a vast experience acting in strategic litigation matters in Peruvian Courts. Carlos is a part-time professor at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where he teaches different courses related to dispute resolution mechanism. He is also a member of the Lima Chamber of Commerce’s arbitrator list.

Prior to Chaffetz Lindsey, Carlos was an Associate at Miranda & Amado in Puru.

Representative Matters

  • Representing developer and manufacturer of wind energy turbines in ICDR-administered arbitration with wind farm owner regarding alleged product defects, delay, and missed milestones arising under an EPC contract.
  • Represented a Peruvian estate company (responsible for promoting, negotiating and monitoring contracts for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Peru) in constitutional matters related to the validity.*
  • Represented a company in an ICC arbitration related to the constructions of telecommunication networks in Peru involving claims in excess of UDS 200 million.*
  • Represented a Chinese company in an arbitration related to its rights under a SPV constituted for the purposes of carrying out telecommunications projects in Peru.*
  • Represented a development bank of Peru in an arbitration related to the implementation of a gold mining project involving claims in excess of USD 250 million.*
  • Represented an energy company in an arbitration related to the distribution of gas in Peru.*
