Daniel has experience in international commercial arbitration, investment, and litigation disputes. He has actively participated in arbitrations conducted in both Spanish and English, under ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, and ICDR rules. Daniel’s expertise spans all phases of arbitration, from the pre-arbitral preliminary stage through to the arbitration process and post-award matters. He has experience dealing with disputes across key industries, with a particular focus on energy, mining, and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Daniel worked at a boutique firm in Bogotá specializing in complex litigation and arbitration within the Dispute Resolution and Public Projects practice groups. He also gained experience at a leading international law firm in Bogotá in the Natural Resources and Disputes practice group. Additionally, Daniel served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alejandro Linares, former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Colombia.
Daniel is passionate about legal academia, having been an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and authoring various publications in the field.
