Eduardo represents clients in all stages of international and domestic arbitration proceedings. He has participated in cases related to various industries including construction, pharmaceutical, energy, telecommunications, and marketing, administered under the rules of the ICC, the ICDR and other arbitral institutions.

Before joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Eduardo worked as a dispute resolution associate at a leading Central American law firm headquartered in Costa Rica. He conducted legal research at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT – seated in Rome, Italy), assisted the Secretariat of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) in the management of cases, and served as vice-president of the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association (HIALSA).

Representative Matters

  • Represented a British hospitality company in an ICDR commercial arbitration dispute in Texas over outstanding payments related to a marketing agreement performed in jurisdictions of Central America and in Florida, U.S.A.*
  • Represented a regional pharmaceutical company in an ICC commercial arbitration dispute in San José, Costa Rica, over the termination of a distribution agreement performed in multiple jurisdictions of Latin America.*
  • Represented a Spanish company in an ICC construction arbitration dispute in San José, Costa Rica, over delays in the construction of a geothermal plant in Costa Rica.*
  • Represented a Spanish company’s subsidiary in a CFIA construction arbitration dispute in Costa Rica over an increase in the construction costs of a petroleum plant in Costa Rica.*
  • Represented an American company’s subsidiary in a CICA arbitration dispute in Costa Rica over damages in relation to the lease of a university campus.*
