Gerard has experience in complex commercial and class action litigation, and has represented individual and corporate clients in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. He has represented clients in contract, fraud, securities, consumer class action, and M&A-related matters.

Experience

Gerard served as a law clerk for the Honorable Catharina Haynes (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, 2016-2017), the Honorable Orinda D. Evans (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, 2015-2016), and the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division (2013).

Before joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Gerard was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

Representative Matters

  • Representing a project owner in an ICC arbitration arising out of the construction of a solar plant in a dispute involving claims in excess of US$1 billion.
  • Represented steel companies in federal lawsuit challenging the Department of Commerce’s denial of exclusions from the Section 232 steel tariffs.
  • Participated in an oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on behalf of an individual alleging employment discrimination against a former employer.
