Jordan’s practice focuses on international arbitration, complex commercial litigation and insurance disputes.  He has represented clients in a variety of sectors, including government, telecommunications, energy, defense, transportation, shipping and insurance.  He thrives in working with a team to solve new, complex problems each day.

Prior to joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Jordan was an associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.

 

 

Representative Matters

  •  Represented an Italian green-energy company and its subsidiaries in an ICC arbitration concerning the performance and management of the largest solar power facilities in the Americas.
  • Represented a Spanish green-energy company in an ICC dispute against the manufacturer of a defective turbine.
  • Represented a Singaporean shipping company in an ICSID arbitration claiming a Latin American sovereign expropriated Singaporean ships.*
  • Represented two monoline insurance companies in an action against underwriting banks arising out of the default of bonds issued by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its instrumentalities.*
  • Defended a former advisor of Donald J. Trump in an AAA arbitration against claims brought by then President Trump that the advisor had breached a non-disclosure agreement.*
  • Defended a New York municipality in state and federal court against claims brought by banks to enforce purported loan obligations arising out of a complex conspiracy involving bribery of public officials, fraud and obstruction of justice.*
  • Represented corporate clients in a multidistrict, antitrust action against major railroad companies for conspiring to fix the price of fuel-surcharges.*
  • Represented a Chinese investor in connection with a CEITAC arbitration concerning the disputed ownership of a major Chinese company.*
  • Advised a prominent blockchain company on its response to the release of defamatory material concerning one of its designers.*
  • Defended a French defense company in an ICC arbitration with an East Asian sovereign related to the alleged payment of commissions in violation of a purchase agreement.*
  • Represented a Dutch telecommunications company in an ICSID arbitration claiming the Republic of Serbia breached its fair and equitable treatment obligations by giving preferential treatment to a Serbian state-owned telecommunications company.*
  • Represented an English energy company before the International Court of Justice claiming that the Republic of India’s tax scheme violated its fair and equitable treatment obligations.*
