Caline Mouawad to Moderate “Trump 2.0: Turbulence and Trade” Panel on Emerging Arbitration Challenges

Where Advocacy Meets Business

September 2025 – Chaffetz Lindsey’s Caline Mouawad will moderate the panel “Trump 2.0: Turbulence and Trade,” an in-depth discussion of how the new U.S. administration’s policies may reshape the global economic landscape and create novel issues in international arbitration.

The panel, taking place on September 16th as part of GAR Live North America, will cover the following topics:

  • Tariff disputes and force-majeure claims arising from new laws
  • Legal uncertainty, ESG compliance, and diversity mandates
  • Political scrutiny of law firms
  • The United States’ role as a leading arbitration seat
  • Mexico’s judicial reform and implications for arbitration abroad

Caline will be joined by panelists Peter Bekker (Dentons), Chip Brower (Wayne State University), Cedric Chao (Independent Arbitrator), and Daniel García Barragán (García Barragán Abogados).

This timely session will explore how shifting trade policies and regulatory priorities could affect cross-border disputes, enforcement strategies, and investor protections—critical issues for businesses and counsel navigating today’s uncertain environment.
