Yasmine Lahlou Co-Chairs ICC Working Group on Landmark Arbitration Publication: “Expedited Procedure Provisions – Eight Years On” Report

Where Advocacy Meets Business

February 2026 —The International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) Commission on Arbitration and ADR has published its comprehensive new report Expedited Procedure Provisions – Eight Years On, alongside a practical Toolkit for Arbitrators in Expedited Procedures and an EPP Factsheet, further cementing the Expedited Procedure Provisions (“EPP”) as a leading tool for efficient international dispute resolution.

Designed to provide detailed analysis and practical guidance eight years after the adoption of the EPP in 2017, the report draws on extensive case experience to chart how expedited procedures have developed, the key lessons from their use, and recommendations for users and arbitrators.

Chaffetz Lindsey’s Yasmine Lahlou played a central role in this milestone publication, serving as Co-Chair of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR’s Working Group on Expedited Procedure Provisions. In that capacity, she helped steer the Working Group’s research, consultations, and drafting efforts — reflecting deep engagement with practitioners and institutions globally on how expedited arbitration can best deliver speed, cost efficiency, and procedural fairness.

The Working Group’s leadership, under Co-Chairs Yasmine Lahlou and Rogier Schellaars, oversaw the development of all three publications — with the report providing the substantive review, the toolkit offering hands-on procedural guidance for arbitrators appointed under EPP, and the factsheet delivering a concise statistical overview of the regime’s use.

The launch event on January 30, 2026, held in Paris and online, featured presentations from the Working Group’s Co-Chairs, including Yasmine, and highlighted the growing adoption and impact of EPP in global arbitration practice.

The Expedited Procedure Provisions – Eight Years On report underscores the evolution of expedited arbitration as a mainstream mechanism in international dispute resolution — providing both empirical insight and strategic direction to counsel, arbitrators, and users worldwide.
