DONATE YOUR COMMUTE TO COVID-19 RELIEF

Where Advocacy Meets Business

Our NYC Neighbors Are Being Hit Hard by the COVID-19 Crisis.
Please Help If You Can.

Giving in uncertain economic times is difficult, but if you are working during this shutdown while many others cannot, we hope you will join us in supporting New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) and City Harvest, two organizations providing immediate assistance to New Yorkers hit hardest in this crisis.

In a firm-wide effort led by our amazing Administrative Assistants (our “A-Team”), 100% of our lawyers, paralegals, managers, and support staff made individual donations in a special fundraising drive to benefit NYLPI and City Harvest.  Together, we’ve raised over $29,000 and counting.

Please join us and we will double your donation. In addition to our individual donations, Chaffetz Lindsey will match up to $20,000 for donations made through the form below. All donations will be split 50-50 between NYLPI and City Harvest.

How NYLPI is helping

NYLPI focuses on health and disability justice and access to healthcare, responding to the emerging needs of clients and communities, including many who will be disproportionately impacted by the virus – because they can’t work from home, don’t have access to quality healthcare, already have higher rates and risk of respiratory disease due to environmental harm, are afraid to get treated because of their immigration status and fear of retaliation, or are individuals with disabilities who have serious underlying health conditions, are immunocompromised, or are seniors. All of these groups require targeted advocacy during the COVID-19 crisis.

NYLPI will continue to support the efforts of its partners while they step up and advocate for our client communities. NYLPI will continue to advocate for the rights and safety of front-line workers, including those in the sanitation, healthcare, education, and transit sectors, who are vital to our City’s health and wellbeing.

How City Harvest is helping

Designated an essential service by Governor Cuomo and New York State, City Harvest, New York City’s private response to hunger and largest food rescue organization, has mobilized to feed children, families, and all of our neighbors in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the pandemic causes the city and the global economy to come to a halt, we’re already seeing unemployment rise rapidly. Even before the crisis, 2.5 million working-age New Yorkers were struggling to make ends meet, and in the coming weeks and months, many more will experience crippling financial hardship, especially with schools and so many businesses forced to close.

City Harvest is committed to feeding everyone who was relying on them before the crisis, and to meeting the increased need as the devastating economic impact of COVID-19 becomes a reality. They are also working hard to ensure that, while schools are closed, children and their families can put meals on their tables.
