Andy Frischknecht to Join NYU/Columbia Conference Panel on “International Arbitration from a US Law Perspective”, Saturday, November 12th

November 2022— Chaffetz Lindsey partner Andy Frischknecht will be speaking at the upcoming “Recent Developments in Arbitration” conference on Saturday, November 12th. The conference will be presented jointly by the Center on Civil Justice and the Center for Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Commercial Law at NYU School of Law, together with the Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration at Columbia Law School.

Andy will join the third panel of the day to discuss “International Arbitration from a US Law Perspective” alongside Linda Silberman (NYU), Franco Ferrari (NYU) and John Fellas (NYU). The panel will discuss a range of issues in international commercial arbitration where U.S. solutions often invite debate, including jurisdiction and forum non conveniens in connection with proceedings to enforce an award, the criteria for enforcing an annulled award, judicial review of arbitral jurisdiction, and whether § 1782 providing for judicial assistance, including discovery, extends to international commercial arbitration.
