September 2015 – To commemorate the tenth year of the ICC New York Conference, members of the ICC Court and Secretariat, along with world-renowned practitioners, will lead an interactive discussion on the questions being asked in international arbitration today. This event, being held on September 21st, will feature a panel discussion on “Emergency Arbitrators: Is this institutional relief fulfilling its promise?”
Chaffetz Lindsey Partner Aníbal Sabater will speak on the panel along with Christian Leathley (Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, London), Ank Santens (Partner, White & Case LLP, New York), and Michael Young (Partner, Allen & Overy LLP, Paris).
The panel will address topics ranging from ICC emergency relief: recent ICC Court experience and new trends since the entry into force of the 2012 Arbitration Rules; choice of forum: strategic considerations as to whether emergency relief should be sought from institutions or domestic courts; emergency order and beyond: relevant standards to grant emergency relief and the enforceability of emergency orders in the face of party non-compliance. The moderator will be Rocío Digón (Managing Director and Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration, SICANA, Inc., New York).
