Aníbal Sabater to Speak on an Arbitrator’s Obligation to Issue an Enforceable Award

February 2019 – On Thursday, February 14^th, Aníbal Sabater will lead a discussion at a meeting of the New York International Arbitration Club on “An Arbitrator’s Obligation to (try to) Issue an Enforceable Award: Achmea and Beyond.” Aníbal will focus on what the obligation means in practice – including whether it is being used as an excuse to run processes inefficiently, and how the recent ruling in Achmea has given it an unexpected new life.

The New York International Arbitration Club aims to promote best practices in arbitration as a means of settling international commercial disputes.
