Caline Mouawad Joins 2024 GAR Live: North America

Where Advocacy Meets Business

September 2024—Chaffetz Lindsey’s Caline Mouawad will take part in the 2024 GAR Live: North America event on Tuesday, September 24th in New York City. Covering the vital developments affecting practitioners across North America, the day will feature panel discussions of hot topics led by leading names in international arbitration.

Caline will join the panel “How Will the Outcome of the Election Impact International Arbitration?” With the US election looming, the panel will share their thoughts on how the current geopolitical landscape is shaping international disputes and how this may change again under a new government.

The panel is expected to discuss:

  • Regionalization/anti-globalization/protectionism: as trends point towards a rejection of international commerce and the legal frameworks where it thrives, what does this mean for international arbitration?
  • A potentially pivotal moment for relations with Russia and China and related disputes over energy sources and other strategic assets, infrastructure and intellectual property.
  • How is US policy faring as the world’s leading issuer of sanctions? Are sanctions impacting arbitration as they should or is it time for a rethink?

Panelists include Miriam Harwood (Katten Muchin Rosenman), Daniel Reich (GBS Disputes) and Julissa Reynoso (Winston & Strawn). Patrick Pearsall (A&O Shearman) will moderate the discussion.
