Chaffetz Lindsey Promotes R. Matthew Burke to Counsel

New York, New York  — Chaffetz Lindsey is pleased to announce the promotion of R. Matthew Burke to Counsel effective January 1, 2026.

Matt joined Chaffetz Lindsey as an associate in 2019 and, according to Managing Partner, Charles Scibetta, “Matt’s promotion reflects our utmost confidence in him as an advocate and leader. We are continually impressed by his excellent legal skills, hard work and valuable contributions to clients and colleagues. We are pleased to recognize Matt as a senior member of our team, and we look forward to his continued success.”

Matt’s practice focuses on contract and business tort litigation and complex insurance coverage disputes. He has been instrumental in securing significant results in high-stakes matters in a range of industries, including renewable energy, insurance, steel, mining, and conventional energy.

In addition to his litigation work, Matt serves as an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, where he teaches a course on international issues in U.S. civil litigation. Matt is also an active member of the New York State Bar Association, acting as Vice-Chair of the Commercial Insurance Disputes Committee, and serves on Working Group 13 of the Sedona Conference.

Matt earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and served as Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He holds a B.A. from Boston College.
