HOSKING & REISBERG FACULTY FOR NYSBA 2016 COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION TRAINING PROGRAM

June 2016 – Chaffetz Lindsey partners James Hosking and Steven Reisberg served as Program Faculty for the 2016 Commercial Arbitration Training for Arbitrators and Counsel hosted by the New York State Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  This comprehensive training program was conducted by seasoned arbitrators, counsel, arbitration administrators, and academics, focusing on Best Practices, from the perspectives of arbitrators and counsel.

James instructed alongside other experts in two different sessions: “Advocates’ Best Practices in Selecting Arbitrators and Representing Clients in Arbitration” and “Award Writing.”  Steven Reisberg spoke on the topic of “Pre-Preliminary Hearing Issues – Ethical and Other Issues.”

James has 20 years of international dispute resolution experience. He is a recognized expert in international arbitration, having handled disputes under the rules of all the leading institutions, including ICC, AAA/ICDR, SIAC, LCIA, WIPO, CRCICA and ICSID, as well as the UNCITRAL Rules. His recent cases have involved international commercial contracts, corporate acquisitions, construction/engineering, licensing/distribution, energy/power projects, JV/shareholder disputes, mining, and investment treaty claims. James also sits as an arbitrator, having acted as chairman, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and emergency arbitrator. In addition, he represents clients in US commercial litigation in state and federal courts.

Steven has been helping clients for more than 30 years to resolve complicated business disputes.  Steven is a highly skilled trial lawyer, representing clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation, arbitrations, and intellectual property disputes.  He has represented companies and individuals in cases before U.S. federal district, appellate and bankruptcy courts, state courts, national and international arbitration tribunals, and administrative agencies, including the ITC and the SEC. Steven serves as an arbitrator in both international and domestic cases.
