December 2019 – On December 1-3, James Hosking co-chaired the inaugural Cambridge Global Forum on International Arbitration, which gathered leaders of international arbitration practices to discuss hot button issues relating to the substance and practice of international arbitration. Held in Chantilly, France, the forum brought together 42 arbitration practitioners from 20 different countries. Together with Philippa Charles of Stewarts, James co-chaired the Steering Committee. James also co-led a discussion about “Best Practice Management: Fostering Excellence, Diversity and Balance in Arbitration Teams.” The discussion focused on developing the right mix of skills for a well-balanced team and properly addressing diversity issues as they pertain to arbitration, big versus small firms, and different jurisdictions.
