James Hosking to Speak at 9th International Arbitration & Mediation Conference in Brazil

November 2015 –The International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR®), the international division of the American Arbitration Association® (AAA®), the Arbitration and Mediation Centre of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC), and the Arbitration Centre of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), São Paulo, are jointly hosting the 9th International Arbitration and Mediation Conference on November 18, 2015, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  This year’s conference, which brings together in-house counsel and attorneys, experts, arbitrators, and mediators, will focus on the various types of industries–and the possible disputes that may arise–related to the Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

The program will focus not only on sports arbitration: additional sessions will cover international ADR best practices as they relate to licensing, construction, and infrastructure projects as well.

Chaffetz Lindsey partner James Hosking is a faculty member for a session titled “International Construction and Infrastructure Projects: The Latest Conflict-Management Options.”  The panel will focus on innovative tools to use in international arbitration and mediation of disputes stemming from construction and infrastructure projects.  Several members of the Chaffetz Lindsey team are involved in such disputes involving Brazil and many other jurisdictions.

James will be joined on the panel by Oliver J. Armas (Hogan Lovells LLP, New York); Tony Dymond (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, London); Patricia D. Galloway (Pegasus Global Holdings,Inc., Cle Elum); and José Antonio Fichtner (Andrade & Fichtner, Rio de Janeiro). Mauricio Gomm Santos (Gomm & Smith PA, Miami) will serve as the moderator.
