Alina’s practice focuses on international arbitration and complex litigation, with experience representing clients in high-stakes commercial disputes. She has advised companies across industries such as construction, energy, telecommunications, insurance and reinsurance, and banking, in proceedings before arbitral tribunals and domestic courts. She’s also assisted legal experts in investor-state arbitrations and contributed to the preparation of expert reports and hearing presentations.

Experience

Prior to joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Alina worked at Bufete Asali, a top litigation and arbitration boutique law firm in Mexico City, for over five years.

Representative Matters

  • Represented a developer and manufacturer of wind energy turbines in ICC arbitration concerning alleged design and construction defects at a wind energy project in Mexico.*
  • Assisted the legal expert on Mexican law in an ICSID arbitration involving denial of justice claims.*
  • Represented a food industry company in a multi-million dollar ICC arbitration governed by the CISG, resulting in a favorable settlement.*
  • Represented the local subsidiary of a global financial institution in a multi-million dollar dispute over the performance of a commercial credit agreement.*
  • Represented a foreign reinsurer in litigation before Mexican courts regarding the termination of a reinsurance contract, securing full dismissal of claims and recovery of legal costs.*
