Irene represents sovereign States and corporate clients before international dispute resolution bodies, including the ICC, PCA, ICSID, ICDR and ICJ, as well as before US federal courts. Her practice in investor-state disputes, commercial arbitrations, and litigation matters spans a range of industries, including energy, oil & gas, shipping, infrastructure, technology, banking, and healthcare. Irene also advises clients on matters of human rights and public international law.
Prior to joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Irene worked for two leading international law firms in London and New York. She holds an LL.B. degree from King’s College London and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School. Irene is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Dutch.

- Represented the Republic of Peru in an UNCITRAL arbitration concerning oil exploration and exploitation.*
- Represented a European State in an investor-state dispute concerning a bank restructuring.*
- Represented the Republic of Peru in an ICSID arbitration for alleged breaches of a port operation and construction concession contract.*
- Advised the International Bar Association and the Human Rights Foundation in a public enquiry concerning the human rights situation in Xinjiang and the treatment of the Uyghur population.*
- Pro bono counsel to individuals seeking asylum in the United States at the Immigration Judge and Board of Immigration Appeals stages.*
