James Hosking and Steven Reisberg Co-Author New York City Bar Report on Arbitrator Appointment in Commercial Arbitrations

April 2018 – Partners James Hosking and Steven Reisberg were members of the drafting subcommittee for the Arbitration Committee of the New York City Bar Association, which recently published its report Arbitrator Appointment Procedures of Arbitral Institutions in Commercial Arbitrations.  The Report surveys arbitrator appointment procedures of various arbitration institutions in commercial arbitrations and provides guidance on options that may not be readily apparent from the institutions’ rules and websites.

The institutions reviewed by the Report are the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and its international division, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR); the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR); JAMS; and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

The drafting subcommittee also included John Delehanty, Matthew Draper, Jennifer Kim, Giovanna Micheli, Jonathan Montcalm, Nancy Nelson, Steven Skulnik, Joshua Slocum, Jonathan Tompkins and Jeffrey Zaino, while Dana MacGrath served as Chair of the subcommittee.
