Steve Schwartz Joins Population Council Board of Trustees

Where Advocacy Meets Business

October 2026 – Chaffetz Lindsey partner Steve Schwartz has joined the Population Council’s Board of Trustees.

Steve is a nationally recognized reinsurance litigator who handles complex domestic and international disputes and is the author of a leading treatise on reinsurance law. He has also maintained a longstanding commitment to pro bono service, including matters involving Native American land rights, disability rights, immigration, employment discrimination, and criminal appeals.

“The Population Council has an impressive history of delivering high-quality research to improve the health and well-being of people around the world,” Steve said. “With the current challenges faced by organizations working in health and science, I am particularly eager to support the Council as it continues its long tradition of scientific excellence.”

Steve also reflected on the personal significance of the appointment: “My mother was a tireless volunteer for reproductive health and rights, and I am honored to follow in her footsteps with an organization that has had such an impact on reproductive health.”

Chaffetz Lindsey congratulates Steve on his appointment and looks forward to his contributions to the Population Council as a member of its Board of Trustees.
