Rainbow Willard and Agustina Alfaro Lead a Lecture on Pretrial Activities in US Civil Procedure at IE Law School

May 2020 – Beginning June 23^rd, Agustina Alfaro will serve as faculty in the “International Contracts and Transnational Judicial Litigation” program organized by Austral University in Argentina. This innovative program is aimed at practitioners and scholars who wish to deepen their theoretical and practical skills in the field. The course will address current trends in private international law, international contract law and international commercial law in Argentina and other Latin American countries.

The program will begin on June 23^rd and continue every Tuesday and Thursday through September 10^th.The course will be conducted entirely online. More information is available here.

May 2020 – On Tuesday, May 5th, Agustina Alfaro moderated a panel discussion titled, “Reactions of Arbitration Institutions before COVID-19,” with Sara Marzal Yetano (legal counsel, ICSID), Juan Pablo Argentato (legal counsel, ICC) and Julián Bordaçahar (legal counsel, PCA).

The discussion, entirely in Spanish, drew attention to the measures taken by institutions to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including electronic filings, virtual hearings, and potential amendments to the arbitration rules. The full webinar is available here.
