Insurance and Reinsurance Disputes in Latin America

April 2013 – Peter Chaffetz recently participated in a seminar organized by the Center of Mediation & Arbitration of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce of Brazil in Sao Paulo on developments in insurance and reinsurance law and disputes. Peter joined a panel of some of Brazil’s leading insurance and reinsurance practitioners to discuss emerging issues for the sectors. His presentation focused on the authority of arbitration panels to require security for the performance of obligations arising under their awards.
