April 2025—Chaffetz Lindsey’s Gretta Walters will speak at the upcoming NYU Law Brazilian Legal Society Annual Conference taking place Monday, April 7th in New York City.
The event will bring together lawyers, legal scholars, researchers, public figures, investors, and entrepreneurs to discuss legal, economic, and political topics that impact Brazil and its relationship with the United States.
Gretta will sit on the Litigation & Arbitration-focused panel “Challenges for Class Arbitrations in Brazil: Lessons from the U.S.” with Arthur Parente (Mattos Filho), Flávio Luiz Yarshell (Yarshell Advogados and Professor at the University of São Paulo Law School), and Michelle Grando (White & Case).
The group will discuss the significant legal and practical challenges Brazil faces as arbitration continues to grow as a preferred method of dispute resolution as well as explore the feasibility and legal framework for class arbitrations in the country. Juliana Botini Hargreaves Vieira (Eizirik Advogados) will moderate the discussion.
