February 2020 – On Friday, February 28th, James Hosking is speaking about “Asymmetric Arbitration Clauses: A Fine Balance,” at the 13th Annual ICDR Practice Moot & Lecture Series.
The ICDR Practice Moot and Lecture Series aims to provide a forum for law students to gain practical experience in the field of private international dispute resolution and commercial law. The event utilizes the fact pattern and framework of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, where students representing a global collection of law schools participate in multiple rounds of simulated arbitration in which they present oral arguments to leading international arbitrators and practitioners in a real world arbitration hearing venue. Following each round, arbitrators provide oral and written feedback to students in an effort to boast advocacy skills and legal knowledge.
Chaffetz Lindsey has been a longtime supporter of the Vis Moot, as several of the firm’s attorneys have participated in pre-moot events. James served as co-coach of the Harvard Law School Vis Moot Team and Gretta Walters and Marcel Engholm Cardoso are co-coaching this year’s NYU Law School’s Vis Moot Team.
