Matilde Flores to Discuss Whether or Not Security Costs Should be Mandated for Investor-State Arbitration

June 2020 – On Tuesday, June 16th, Matilde Flores will participate in a panel discussion titled, “True or False: Security for Costs Should be Mandated for Investor-State Arbitration?” The debate is part of JURIS Conferences’ 14th Annual Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference, a four-session web conference focused on systematic reform currently under consideration in various fora. Some topics of discussion include whether the revised investment chapter in the new NAFTA represents a paradigmatic shift for the U.S. government, proposed prescriptions on double-hatting and security-for-costs orders.
