Gretta Walters and Erin Valentine Analyze Expedited Arbitrations for Kluwer Arbitration Blog

September 2020 – Gretta Walters and Erin Valentine recently published a blog post titled “UNCITRAL Working Group II: Does Expedited Equal Efficient?” on the Kluwer Arbitration Blog. The article is part of a series by the Kluwer Arbitration Blog in advance of UNCITRAL’s Working Group II meetings next week at which discussions will continue on draft expedited arbitration provisions for use with the UNICTRAL Arbitration Rules. In the article, Gretta and Erin examine why efficiency matters, how the draft expedited arbitration provisions encourage efficiency and whether those tools will be effective.

In February 2020, Gretta spoke about expedited arbitration provisions at an UNCITRAL Working Group II event. During the same month, Erin led a discussion on the same topic at the CPR Annual Conference.

The UNCITRAL Working Group II meetings will take place from September 21st – 25th in Vienna. Gretta is attending as a delegate of the NYC Bar Association.
