Peter Chaffetz and Chaffetz Lindsey’s Insurance/Reinsurance team top-ranked in Who’s Who Legal

April 2018 – Peter Chaffetz has been named the number 1 Thought Leader in the USA in the 16th edition of Who’s Who Legal: Reinsurance and Insurance 2018.  The Thought Leader ranking is based on the highest number of nominations from peers, corporate counsel and other market sources during Who’s Who’s research.  Those surveyed recognized Peter as an “immensely smart and capable lawyer,” well regarded for his “sound judgement.”  The editorial underscored that Peter is “particularly noted for his handling of issues arising from fraud.”  Peter is also noted as a leading individual in Who’s Who’s Litigation and Arbitration listings.

Chaffetz Lindsey was also included in the list of 300 Leading Firms (the firms whose attorneys received the most total nominations during Who’s Who’s research).  Several of our partners were highlighted for their knowledge of reinsurance/insurance practice, including founding partners Charlie Scibetta and Cecilia Moss who were both listed as leading individuals for the first time:

• Partner Steve Schwartz is described as “an excellent writer who really shines on appellate work” says those surveyed who “think very highly” of him.  The editorial praised Steve’s “outstanding insight on acquisitions and mergers involving reinsurance companies.”
• Founding partner Charlie Scibetta is highlighted for his “excellent work” in the US as well as abroad.  The article noted Charlie as “an exceptional practicioner with substantial experience and insight” into insurance matters.
• Founding partner Cia Moss is honored for her “deep understanding of reinsurance,” a practice in which interviewees say she is “well regarded.”  The editorial highlights Cia’s “wealth of overall experience in the field.”

Who’s Who ranks attorneys and firms across the globe based on interviews with general counsel and peer attorneys.  The publication ranks attorneys in both disputes and non-disputes practice.
