January 2023— Chaffetz Lindsey’s Caline Mouawad, Yasmine Lahlou and Gretta Walters have been recognized for their international expertise by Latinvex in their recently released 2022 rankings.

Caline Mouawad and Yasmine Lahlou have been named among the “Top 100 Female Lawyers in Latin America,” marking the fourth consecutive year Caline has been recognized and the fifth consecutive year for Yasmine. In addition, Gretta Walters has debuted as one of 25 Rising Legal Stars in Latin America. Prominent attorneys on this list have been highlighted for the scope and prominence of work and future potential in the region.

Latinvex’s editorial staff selects the top 100 female lawyers specializing in Latin America among international law firms. The tenth annual ranking looked at nearly 100 law firms and chose attorneys from 61 different firms based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Bermuda. The criteria for selection was a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of firm in Latin America and rankings.

Legal 500 Recognizes Chaffetz Lindsey‘s International Arbitration and Insurance Teams and Eleven Partners in 2022 USA Report

June 2022— Chaffetz Lindsey’s International Arbitration and Insurance teams have been recognized in the 2022 Legal 500 USA report. Both teams received a Tier 2 ranking among the top 10 practices in the country.

In addition, eleven Chaffetz Lindsey partners have been individually recognized in the report.

On the International Arbitration list, James Hosking, Caline Mouawad and Anibal Sabater were named Leading Lawyers, Yasmine Lahlou has been named a Next Generation Partner, and Gretta Walters made her first appearance on the table as a Rising Star. David Lindsey received the Hall of Fame honor and Andreas Frischknecht was noted as a Recommended Lawyer. August 2021 – The recently released Chambers & Partners 2022 Latin America ranking once again lists and commends only one boutique for international arbitration:  Chaffetz Lindsey. Young ITA Appoints Lidia Rezende as North America Chair

July 2021 – The Institute for Transnational Arbitration’s Young ITA appointed Lidia Rezende as the North America Chair on the Young ITA’s new leadership team. Lidia is one of seventeen new Regional Chairs and Vice-Chairs, who will be responsible for coordinating activities in ten different regions across the globe. As North America Chair, Lidia will serve as an ambassador for the region, organize #YoungITATalks events, develop relationships with local and regional international arbitration organizations and create written contributions to Young ITA’s online publications.

Young ITA promotes the involvement of young professionals (under 40) in the international arbitration community through programs, publications and other activities across over 100 countries. Young ITA is the “young” arm of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, which was created in 1986 with the goal of educating business executives, government officials and lawyers about arbitration as a means of resolving transnational business disputes and promoting global adherence to the world’s principal arbitration treaties.

ICCA Research Project Co-Edited by James Hosking and Yasmine Lahlou Shortlisted as GAR Awards 2021 “Best Development”

June 2021 –Global Arbitration Review has included the ICCA research project, “Does a Right to A Physical Hearing Exist in International Arbitration?” on the shortlist for the “Best Development” of 2021 award. The ICCA report, co-edited by James Hosking, Yasmine Lahlou and Giacomo Rojas Elgueta, with support from Marcel Engholm Cardoso and Benedetta Mauro, surveys nearly 80 New York Convention jurisdictions, in which country reporters have provided reliable, jurisdiction-specific, information on the core legal questions posed by the increased use of remote hearings in international arbitration.

The project is 1 of 12 included in GAR’s “Best Development” shortlist. The winner, picked by GAR readers, will be announced, along with several other categories, at the virtual GAR Awards 2021 ceremony on July 1.

Registration for the GAR Awards 2021 is available here. Proceeds of the ceremony will go towards supporting GAR’s in-house charity, the Swawou School for Girls in Sierra Leone.
