Aníbal Sabater to Speak at Latin Lawyer 7th Annual Private Equity Conference
September 2016 – Aníbal Sabater, Chaffetz Lindsey partner and international arbitration specialist, will be a speaker at the Latin Lawyer Private Equity Conference taking place in New York on Monday, September 26th. His panel, titled “Beauty and the Beast: From populism to orthodoxy,” will discuss what has been the experience for investors in various Latin American jurisdictions with expropriations or rule changes. More specifically:
- Argentina: what has been the balance of Argentina’s populist adventure? The Macri Era – a feasible, new beginning?
- Venezuela: experience in nationalization and investment treaty arbitration
- Functioning of investment treaties to hedge sovereign risk
- SEC listing as hedge of sovereign risk?
